Wedding

Crystal & Matthew

I remember the first time meeting Crystal and Matthew. Typically I’ll meet with couples before they book, but they had already done their research, booked via email, and there we were at their engagement session. Normally I have to loosen the groom up and assure him it will be easy and painless, but not Matthew! His love for Crystal was overflowing and you could tell he was just as excited as she was to be there in that moment!

This sweet couple from New York and I became quick friends over their engagement season and I couldn’t wait for their wedding day. I knew it would be beautiful and I was so excited to be at the charming Cypress Grove Estates, but more than all of that, I was looking forward to meeting the special families that these two had to have come from! Can I just say now that I want to move to New York?! Their families were all that I imagined they would be! That tight knit, loving, fun, New York family! They made Ashley and I feel like we were part of the family that day and the Grajales wedding will be a highlight of our year for sure!

Matthew, Crystal, and to all of your family, thank you so much for a memorable night! Your love, hospitality, and overall kindness has made such an impression on us and we hope that our paths cross again soon! Enjoy your preview of that special day!

Wedding

Kaylee and Ryan

I don’t get back to my home town often anymore, so I was more than thrilled when Kaylee decided to have me capture her wedding day that was taking place in the very church that I grew up in.

Driving into town brought such a peaceful feeling to me. The S-curves that are lined with gorgeous orange groves, the familiar houses that I would walk right into, and the historic buildings that still look the same for the most part after all these years brought me back to a simpler time in life. A time where my friends and I could ride our bikes all over town. A time where we knew everybody’s name. A time where having fun and staying out of trouble were my only priorities.

The familiar smell of the church and the warm greetings from friends who were more like family made this girl’s heart overflow. There truly is no place like home and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to collide my two world’s together and get to do what I love, where I love, surrounded by people I love!

Kaylee and Ryan, your wedding day was a dream and I hope that you two have many years of happiness together! Thank you for letting me play a small part in your love story! Enjoy your preview!

Wedding

Alexandra & Ray

St. Augustine is one of my favorite cities in Florida. It’s filled with Florida history, unique shops, and beautiful architect around every corner. It also holds sentimental meaning to me as that’s where my parents eloped to over 30 years ago. And it was in that same spot where they said, “I do,” that my husband got down on one knee and proposed to me almost 10 years ago. So you can see how I was more than elated when Alex and Ray inquired about me capturing their big day and informed me it would take place in St. Augustine! What better way to start 2019 than a destination wedding in my favorite Florida city!

Alex and Ray couldn’t have asked for a prettier January day! Though the ceremony and reception were held inside, it made for perfect weather to ride the trolly back and forth between the Treasury on the Plaza and The Lightner Museum for photographs. The groomsmen provided many laughs for us that day, and the bridesmaids were the most incredible group of friends I have seen in a long time. Take the beauty you see in these pictures, and times it by 10 and you’ll get a glimpse of their hearts!

The entire day was filled with emotional moments, laughs, romance, and ended with one heck of a party. You may have heard of receptions having a loco hora… well try loco horaS for this reception! This crowd definitely knew how to have a good time!

Alex and Ray thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your big day! I’ve loved getting to know the two of you this past year! Ray, thank you so much for the sacrifices you make daily and for serving our country honorably! Alex, thank you for being a living testimony that empowered women live to empower other women! You guys are an incredibly strong couple and I pray for many years of a happy marriage between the two of you! Enjoy a little preview of your big day!

Wedding

Nori & Jose

“Eight years, nine months, and eleven days. But who’s counting?” Those were the words spoke by Nori as she read her vows to Jose. These two had been waiting for what seemed like a lifetime to others, to seal their relationship through marriage. These two endured growing pains, distance, and the ups and downs of life together, coming out on the  mountain top maturing into a beautiful couple. Nori and Jose love deeply and it’s easy to understand why everyone around them loves them deeply as well.

Nori and Jose chose the beautiful Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club in Sarasota, Florida to tie the knot. Family and friends joined them in a gorgeous outdoor ceremony and then partied the night away indoors at the reception. And when I say party, I  mean PARTY! It was my first “Loco Hora” experience, but I hope it isn’t my last!

Nori and Jose, I can’t thank you enough for allowing me to come along this journey with you this past year. You guys have loved on Ashley and I like we were part of your family….and since your family is so much fun, I hope you don’t mind us joining it! Ha 😉 We pray that you guys have a lifetime of love and blessings ahead of you! Enjoy a preview of your beautiful day! 2018-11-15_00012018-11-15_00022018-11-15_00032018-11-15_00202018-11-15_00192018-11-15_00042018-11-15_00072018-11-15_00062018-11-15_00212018-11-15_00222018-11-15_00102018-11-15_00092018-11-15_00252018-11-15_00082018-11-15_00232018-11-15_00112018-11-15_00152018-11-15_00182018-11-15_00172018-11-15_00242018-11-15_00272018-11-15_00262018-11-15_00132018-11-15_00162018-11-15_00312018-11-15_00302018-11-15_00372018-11-15_00322018-11-15_00332018-11-15_00362018-11-15_00352018-11-15_00342018-11-15_00392018-11-15_00402018-11-15_0041

Wedding

#FallingHeadleyOverHeels

Summer in Florida is our rainy season. I know, kind of ironic since we’re known as the sunshine state, but it’s true! Many outdoor weddings are moved inside, engagement sessions and senior portraits are often rescheduled.

The week leading up to Gabby and Thomas’ wedding was no different. It rained all week long and the few moments of relief it gave us was still extremely overcast and cloudy. I knew that Gabby was a roll-with-the-punches kind of girl and honestly, I wasn’t worried about her being disappointed about pictures outside. I have the cutest bubble umbrellas and knew that her and Thomas would make the most of it and we would still get adorable photographs. However, as much as I love those umbrellas, I was so happy for Gabby when we didn’t need them!

You guys – it was a miracle! The clouds opened up and rays of sunshine came bursting through! It made for a gorgeous day, a day that perfectly reflected their love for one another!

“They are always happiest when they’re together.”

“When they first got together we knew that was it, nothing else seemed to make sence.”

“Thomas made it a priority to facetime Gabby every day during their years of long distance.”

“Gabby talks about Thomas all the time when she’s not with him.”

These were the words that filled the ceremony and the toasts. Their pastor, family, and best friends witnessed their relationship for the past six years and were all thrilled that the day was finally here where these two would become one! You know you have something beautiful when you have so  much support and encouragement from your people. Support and encouragement that gets you through six years, and most of it long distance!

Thomas and Gabby, it has been an absolute honor to come alongside you in this season of your life. I feel so privilege to get a peek at what the rest of your friends and family have witnessed over the last several years. I pray that your love for one another continues to grow more and more every day!

Enjoy your preview!

xoxo

Inspiration for Brides, Wedding

Sweet Summer Time

Its officially the first day of summer and we couldn’t be more excited! I’ll be honest, living in Florida it’s felt like the summer for a while now, but nonetheless, we love it!

Some of your favorite Orlando wedding vendors came together to give you summer wedding inspiration! We had all things patriotic in mind while styling it and this would be a perfect design for Memorial day, 4th of July, Labor Day, a military wedding, or heck, really any summer wedding! Hues of red and blue are the perfect pop against the clean white and bright look we all love!

Southern brides, don’t think you have to sweat like crazy to have a beautiful outdoor wedding! Don’t be afraid to pick that short wedding dress off the rack! As you can see here, when Sarah topped it off with the veil and red heels, she had classy written all over her!

I don’t know about you guys, but I was a bride on a budget! So take it from me, that doesn’t mean you have to trade classy for cheap or timeless for tacky! This design shows you how topping off your simple white cake with a sprinkled donut, decorating your tables with in season berries, and adding fresh flowers can make all the difference!

So pick up your glass of lemonade and scroll through for a taste of summer!

Engagement & Proposal

JaLisa + Mark

It was a perfect morning as JaLisa, Mark and I walked around taking in nature and snapping photos here and there. When I met with them to talk about their engagement session they tossed around a few locations. I think they were settled on a local park until I asked them what it was they wanted to showcase. JaLisa really loved the idea of showcasing the state of Florida for her family back in Ohio.

Florida has so many options when it comes to locations. We’re the sunshine state so of course you could go for the beach session. We also have some metropolitan cities like Tampa, Orlando, Miami, and Jacksonville that offer a fun downtown feel. But we also have swamplands, open fields, and over 100 springs that discharge millions of gallons of water a day. It really is a great state for a photographer with so many different options (just wish we had those beautiful fall colors…and maybe some mountains!)

As we continued to talk I learned that JaLisa and Mark were an outdoorsy couple and loved spending time in nature and swimming in the springs. That’s when we all knew that Wekiva State Park would be the perfect location for their engagement session!

We nearly had the whole park to ourselves that morning and the bright sun hitting the gorgeous trees brought a peace that I can still feel when I look at their gallery. We couldn’t have had more fun that morning and I can’t wait to celebrate their wedding day!

Enjoy a sweet preview from that peaceful day.
